B: I go swimming four times a month. How about you? A: I like to play soccer. B: How often do you play soccer? A: I play soccer twice a week.语言知识目标(Language knowledge):Learn to know the sounds and words. 语言技能目标(Language skills):Learn to how to pronounce the /au/ in some words. 情感态度目标(sentiment):Stimulate students enthusiasm for reading English. 学习策略目标 (Learning strategy):Through learning the phonetic, students may be able to pronounce other words that contain these two letters: ow, even if they dont know their meanings.Besides, students may be able to remember words skillfully by the way of pronunciation. 文化意识目标(Cultural consciousness):Through the study of this unit, students may be able to know that even if words are various in spelling, they have some similar characteristics, like the pronunciation,which may help the understand foreign culture better. Step 1 Warming-up 1.Greetings 2.Free talking 3.By playing a sharp eyes game, review new vocabularies that learned in the past two periods Step 2 Presentation “my favorite, not really” 1.Free talk: T: What do you like to do? S1:I like to go swimming. T:How often do you go swimming? S1:Very often. I often go swimming three times a week. T:OK, thank you. So, what about Jenny? What does she like to do and how often does she do it? Please open your book and find the answers. 2.Have students open their books and look at the pictures. 3.Play the tape, pausing after each sentence to have students repeat, and then underline the words that they dont understand. 4.To have students guess the Chinese meaning according to the context. 5.Teacher explains the new words and set several examples to help them understand. Step 3 Practice 1.Mechanical drills(机械操练) 1)Listen to the tape, have students repeat the sentences. 2) Put students into pairs and ask them to play the roles of Gogo and Jenny. 3) Have pairs practice acting out the dialogue. 4) Encourage some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. 2.Meaning practice(意义操练) 1)Before reading, teacher raise several questions about the story. 2)Have the students to read the story again , while reading, pay special attention to the questions that teacher asked. 3)After reading, students are required to answer the questions. 4)Try to guide students to recite this story. Step 3 Production 1.Pair work: To have students do role play again without reading books. 2.Report presentation: On the basics of reading for so many times, students may change the phrases according to their own fondness by the same sentence patterns and then, make their own dialogue. Step 4 Summary 1.Summarized Today, we learned about a story that happens between Jenny and Gogo.Of course, its about the same theme: favorite activities and adverbs of frequency. So, we may employ the sentence patterns to express our feeling correctly and program our time rationally. 2.Learning evaluation Students may enhance their linguistic ability by adopting the story and they may form a habit of imitating others work, which lays a solid foundation for their creative thinking. Step 5 Homework 1. Listen, read and repeat the story, recite the sentences that you like. 2. Copy the sentences on the busy book.
