Title: Wu Yifans dairy A day in the countryside Teaching Aims 1.Language knowledge To enable students to 1) Read and understand the diary correctly . 2) Know some new words and phrases such as dre

2、ssed up ,played the part of made a funny play by reading this dairy . 2. Language skills To enable students to 1) Develop abilities of reading skills(skimming,scanning,prediction ) and writing skills by using past tense 2) know the form of a dairy by reading two dairies. . 3)know how to write a diar

3、y. 3. The emotion education To enable students to 1) Improve their cooperation awareness by learning in groups or in pairs. 2) be a caring person. Establish optimistic way to solve the bad things in your life 3) Have interest in writing. 4. Learning strategies: 1) Think in English actively and feel

4、free to share ideas . 2) Cooperate with group members. Key Points 1.Students can use different reading skill(skimming,scanning,prediction ) to help them understand the text and learn new words and phrases well. 2.Students can finish 3 exercises after reading correctly . Difficult Points 1. Students

5、can develop their ability of thinking in English through prediction and answering questions. 2. Student can develop their writing skills through reading ,thinking following the form and observation . 3. Student can use the main idea of this dairy ( Bad luck can bring good luck.)into their real life

7、Step 1:Free talk: (3) a. Greet to each other. b. Tell Ss a real bad thing of mine happened before English class. c.Ss try to use their ways and comfort me and make me happy. Step 2: Pre-reading (7 ) A.How did Wu Yifan meet Max ? Observe the pictures and make up the story in pairs. a.Look and discuss

8、. b.Students present this story. B. Predict how was Wu Yifans family trip in the countryside ? a. Ss use their imagination to predict it and share their ideas with others. C. Look at the 3 pictures from the dairy and predict the dairy chronological order. 1)Ss talk in groups ,find the helpful key wo

9、rds for each picture . 2)ThenSs predict the chronological order. Step 3:While- Reading (15) A. General reading 1.Listen and skim for the topic sentence of the dairy. 2.Listen again and number the pictures in a correct order. 3.Scan and underline matching sentences with the 3 pictures. B.Close readin

10、g for emotion 1.Read and answer the following questions. Ss use different ways to cheer their teacher up. Pair work and make up a story. Make a prediction of Wus family trip. Skim for the answer of the topic sentence of Wus diary. Arouse studentsinterest and curiosity about the diary. Develop the ab

11、ility of perdition. Develop the ability of making a story. In the morning time (1)What did they do in the morning ? Ss read in silence and underline the answer. Ss think and share. 2.Write the good things and bad things happened on their dairy book. Ss try to underline all the good and bad things and then write th

B.Close reading for new words and phrases. 1.Look at the pictures, imagine and practice these new words and the phrases by making sentences. 2.Look,observe and compare the new words and make sentences. Step 4: Post- Reading (12) A.Learn a new dairy 1.Ss read teachers dairy as an example. 2.

14、Ss try to find the form of a diary . B.Write a new diary 1.Ss try to write their own diaries. 2.Ss try to share their new diaries. Step5:Summary and assessment. Scan for the detail information, find out the changes from bad to good and find out the reason. Learn new words and phrases by looking and

15、making sentences. Learn the form of a diary. Learn to write a new diary. Train the reading skills of skimming and scanning. Train the Ss to find the emotion line of the diary. Let students read the diary in details and feel the right orders of writing a diary. Introduce the format of English diary.

16、Lay the foundation of writing. To practice students writing skills. Step 6:Blackboard Design Step 7:Homework 1.Read your diary to your friends or your parents. 2.Put your diary in your friends circle. 3. Search and read the story of Sai Wong Shi Ma on the Internet. 1.Summary what Ss have learnt today . 2.Summary the group work and individual work assessments in class.
