2、ere making the sky very dark. With no light outside, it felt like midnight. A heavy rainstorm was in the area. Everyone in the neighborhood was busy. Bens dad was putting pieces of wood over the windows while his mom was making sure the flashlights and radio were working. She also put some candles a
3、nd matches on the table. Ben was helping his mom make dinner when the rain began to beat heavily against the windows. “I was having dinner with my parents when I heard a strange and loud noise(声音). A few minutes later, our house fell down on top of us. We tried our best to climb out but then I could
4、nt find my mother. So I went back inside quickly and found her and came out. Then I saw my neighbor Mr. Wang under his fallen house. My father and I ran to save him, safe but very scared.” Ben said. Soon, the wind was dyingdown, the sun was rising. Butthe neighborhoods were in a mess. Fallen trees,
5、broken windows and rubbish were everywhere. All the neighbors started to help each other and joined to clean up the neighborhood together. Soldiers helped to take people out of the flooded ( 水 淹的 )area and the welfare department(福 利机 构 )brought them food, clothes and shelter. Although the storm brok
