Teaching Aims: a) Knowledge objectives To understand these new words and phrases: busy,free,cleaning the windows, sweeping the floor, doing the dishes and washing clothes. To understand the sentences primitively:-What are you doing? To master the use of the sentence pattern in the special situation to talk about their ongoing actions: -Im cleaning the windows/ sweeping the floor/ doing the dishes/washing clothes . b) Ability objectives To get the skills of talking about their ongoing actions using present progressive. c) Moral objectives To get the consciousness of cooperating with group members to finish the task . To get the consciousness of helping their parents do housework. II. Teaching Methods: The direct method The communicative approach Group-work study, etc. III. Teaching Important Points: New words and sentences learning . IV. Teaching Difficult Points: The pronunciation of/-ing/ ,/s/ and /es/. V. Teaching Aids: Blackboard, CAI, word cards VI. Teaching Procedures: Step1 (5 min): 1, Greeting and Preparation 2, Catch a word(busy) in a video. Step2 ( 12min ): Presentation : 1, Teacher introduce the busy weekend and ask students about their weekends. -What do you usually do on your weekends? -I . Show the video that the students is cleaning the windows, and lead the students to say the phrase “clean the windows” . Teacher show a magic: clean the windows cleaning the windows,and do the action in the same time to lead students to understand the sentence “Im cleaning the windows.” Teacher teaches the following phrases(sweeping the floor/ doing the dishes/washing clothes)in the same way and lay out the new sentence: Im cleaning the windows. 2,Teacher introduces the secret of the magic: Present progressive: Be(am/is/are)+V-ing. Step3 ( 10 min ) : Practice: 1, The game called Lets frozen(transmit things, and ask/answer quietly). 2, Listen and the conversation following the radio. Step 4 ( 8min ) : Production: 1, Read and act the conversation in pairs. 2, Review what you learned in the class. Step 5 ( 3 min.): Consolidation and Extension: Teacher guide the students to have a review of new words and the sentence patterns in this lesson. Teacher leads students to help their busy parents do some housework when they are free. Step 6 ( 2 min.): Assignment: Students should try to help busy parents do some housework when they are free. VII. Post-teaching Rethinking: The game should be organized well to help students learning.
