Warming up 母亲节 (Mothers Day) 是一个感谢母亲的节日,这个节日最早出现 在古希腊;而现代的母亲节起源于美国,是 每年5月的第二个星期日。这一天,人们总 要想方设法使母亲愉快地度过节日,感谢和 补偿她们一年的辛勤劳动。最普通的方式是 向母亲赠送母亲节卡片和礼物。 What will you do for your mum? Mum and I will go to see that film on Mothers Day. Teaching activity: Ask students to talk bout their mothers hobbies,favourite food ,fruit ,colour and clothes. Talk about what they will buy for their mum.Let the students discuss in group and choose the best gift. Teaching aids: Multimedia computer ,Teaching wall chart, word cards ,photos Teaching procedures Step 1 Warm-up. 1. Greetings. T: Good morning , everyone . How is the weather like ,today? S: Its sunny. T: Its a fine day today. What day is it today? S: Its Friday. T: Lets sing a song together. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 2. Talk something about your mom .Show them pictures about Mothers Day .Talk about mums favorite things. Step 2 Presentation 1. Present the new words by pictures. Study the new words: hey,actress,Mothers Day, actor, greatest,hat ,choice,handbag. 2.Practice the new words,read the words together. 3Present the new structures: Is she your mums favourite singer? Yes, she is ./No,she isnt. Write the title on the blackboard. 4.Ask students to read the words and structures. 5.Study the dialogue. Watch the video, listen to the tape ,and answer the following questions: Does Zhang Jias mum like music ? What will Zhang Jia buy for her mum ? What will Wang Li do on Mothers Day ? 6.Analyze the text.Ask students to read the structures. 7.Role-play the conversation. Read after the teacher. Devide them into two groups to read the dialogue. Ask two students to act the dialogue. Step 3 Practice 1. Work in pairs Help your partner to pick a gift for his/her mum. First make a model using the following structures: A: Is this your mums favourite colour? B: Yes, it is.Is this your mums favourite fruit? A:Yes,it is.My mum likes grapes. 2. Group work. The teacher hands out the pictures ,photos to the students.They make dialogues using the following stuctures: Is this your mums favourite colour/fruit/flower? Is he/she your mums favourite actor/actress/singer? 3. Show time. The teacher invites two students to act. They each need to choose one card from the platform and make dialogues using the structures. Homework: 1. Write the new words for three lines. 2. Read the dialogues for 15 minutes . 3. She is my mums favourite actress. Mum and I will go to see that film on Mothers Day.等句型写到黑板上,或用多媒体展示出来。 ) (2)教师简单讲解黑板上或多媒体展示出来的生词和句型。然后,教学生认读、 跟读和记忆。 (3)播放Look, listen and act的录音,先让学生听两遍。在听懂大意的基础上, 给学生布置“任务” ,比如:Does Zhang Jias mum like music? What will Zhang Jia buy for her mum? What will Wang Li do on Mothers Day?等,让学生带着问 题、带着目的去听录音。 (4)通过多种形式让学生朗读Look, listen and act的内容,比如:跟录音读,跟 教师读,角色扮演朗读(根据对话角色,让不同的学生扮演) 。也可以让学生将 课文内容换成自己的话来进行复述(注意,复述课文应根据学生实际情况选择 使用) 。 (5)在学生听懂和熟读的基础上,组织学生以小组为单位,进行角色扮演,模 仿Look, listen and act的内容进行对话表演。 (在学生进行对话表演时,教师可将 Look, listen and act内容通过图片或多媒体等方式,向学生适当提供情景,以便 学生模仿对话时参考。 ) 语言点解释 在英语中,singer既可以指“男歌手” ,也可以指“女歌手” 。但指男演员时通 常用actor,指女演员时通常用actress。 在Mothers Day前,介词习惯用on。例如:Mum and I will go to see that film on Mothers Day. 根据英语惯用法,I与其他人称并列时,多位于其他人称代词之后。 Mum and I will go to see that film on Mothers Day. He and I will go to the shopping centre. 任务2的教学: (1)教师让学生看Listen and say的教学内容,带领学生朗读Mothers Day,singer,actress,film,good idea,actor这几个单词和短语,或让学生齐声 朗读这几个单词和短语。 (2)播放Listen and say的录音,先让学生仔细听,注意录音中所用句型和词语 的读音。 (3)根据Listen and say内容,让学生两人一组,仿照图片上面的对话形式和句 型(但不限于这些句型)Is she your mums favourite singer? Yes, she is./No, she isnt.等,就本任务中新词进行对话练习(所用句型可以适当灵活变化,以体现 活学活用之目的) 。 (4)让学生谈论自己的母亲有什么爱好,喜欢什么食物、水果、颜色和业余爱 好等,在“母亲节” ,自己打算送给母亲什么礼物。课堂上,先让学生分组讨论, 评选最佳礼物。 (教师要进行正确引导,让学生量力而行,礼物贵在有意义,最 好是学生自己动手制作的礼物。 ) 教学评析 本节教学内容为情景对话,侧重语言的交际功能,目的是通过谈论为母亲购买 喜欢的物品这个话题,让学生掌握有关的句型和词语,并培养他们感悟母爱、 常怀感恩的情感。教学中,围绕主题展开教学活动,有利于培养和提高学生的 听说能力。
