Unit 7 Everyone has something to do. Teaching content: section A Teaching objectives: 1.Knowledge objective: students are able to master some important words and key sentences. Words such as busy, street, and a worker. Sentences such as everyone has something to do. 2.Ability objective: students are able to improve their listening ability and speaking ability. 3.Emotional objective: students are able to learn about there are many kinds of occpation in our lives and people all work hard. Teaching Difficult Point : Students are able to understand the meaning of these important sentences and can imitate the key sentences. Teaching Key Point : Students are able to master the key sentences and can communicate with classmates about their favourite occupations. Teaching aids : tape-recorder, pictures about policeman, cleaner, farmer etc. Teaching method : task-based method Teaching procedures : Step 1 Warming up and leading in 1. Greetings T: Good morning, boys and girls. Ss: Good morning, teacher. T: How was your weekend? Ss: Good./Great. 2. Lead-in T: We have learned this word-everyone. Do you remember it ? Ss: Yes. T: OK. Look at the pictures in my hand. Can you guess what he do? Present the pictures. Ss: Policeman. T: Great. And this one? Ss: Cook. T: Good. All of you have reviewed the new words. Well-done. Next we are going to learn the title of this unit. Please turn to the page forty-four. Step2 Presentation 1. Listen to the tape and read quietly following the tape. Circle the strange words at the first time. After listening to the tape, the teacher will invite a student to tell the meaning of the titles. Everyone has somethings to do. Start with the title, the teacher begins to raise two questions: something-refers what? What do you do in your daily life? The students read the conversation carefully and think about the two questions.(Then the teacher will invite the two students to answer questions.) 2. After finishing the two questions, students begin to read the conversation and try to think about the meaning by themselves. 3. Key points : look at the he helps(drives/cooks/cleans) Look at the policeman, he helps people. Look at the cook in the noodle shop. He cooks noodles. The teacher leads students to figure out the key in the important sentences and encourage the students to make the sentences by themselves. 4. Role-play Invite several students to play the role in the conversation. Give students 5 minutes to prepare for it. Then the teacher invites two groups to present in front of the class. Step 3 Pair work a. Look at the six pictures, and make a dialogue with your parterner. b. Present in front of other students. Step 4 Consolidation Practice the key sentences Step 5 Homework : Read the sentences and remember the new sentences Step 6 Blackboard Design Step 7 Reflection Students are concentrated in the text. However, there are few students who are not interested in the text. So the teacher needs to design many kinds of games that can attract students interest. The teacher is ought to give students proper encouragement when they answer the questions correctly and remember not to point their mistake before they finish their answer. Be more patient and give them more chance to practice the conversation, which is good for developing their speaking ability and listening ability. Everyone has something to do.
