Whats he doing? Module 4 Unit 2 Part 1 Analysis of students The students from Class 3 Grade 2 are clever and active. They are good at expressing and communicating. But sometimes, they can not pay their attention to the content in the class, so I designed some activities, like magic eyes, clapping and singing to attract their attention, and active the atmosphere of the class. Part 2 Analysis of content This unit is about present tense, the content is easy, and theyve learnt some words in last modules, so it will attract students interest easily, and mind map will be quite helpful for training Ss divergent thinking. Part 3 Teaching aims Knowledge aim: New words: five-stones, hide-and-seek, behind The following sentences: Whats he doing? Hes playing hide-and-seek. Ability aim: To train students ability to describe what is happening with third person singular and divergent thinking Emotion aim: To enjoy the friendship and time with friends Part 4 Teaching key and difficult points Key points: new words and new structures Difficult points: The pronunciation of five-stones, hide -and-seek Part 5. Teaching methods Total Physical response Task-based language teaching method Group cooperative teaching method Audio-lingual Approach Part 6. I say, you say T gives some Ss several word cards and practice with “Im” Change “Im ” structure into “Hes ” “Shes ” Activity2. “Clapping and Singing” To strengthen the key structure (Teaching aim: The revision of the words is a kind of transition between step 2 and step 3) III. Presentation Listen and choose Teach the new words “five-stones, behind, hide-and-seek ” through some interesting games Read the text (Teaching aim: to strengthen the new words and sentences in the text) IV. Practice I know more about “Playing” (Teaching aim: to summarize and make a base for the next step V. Extension Mind-Map To show the homework of last lesson, write new words “five- stones” and “hide-and-seek” and say more words relating to “playing” (Teaching aim: To strengthen the key points, train Ss divergent thinking and improve the ability of classifying, summarizing and inducting) VI. Homework To see others mind maps and enrich your mind map (Teaching aim: This step is the sublimation of the knowledge and the mind that while being friends, they should learn and help each other.)
