All the students are able to use the structure “ I can “ to describe something that they are good at. 3. All the students are able to know that everyone has their talent somewhere. 4. All the students are able to learn some science knowledge about birds. 5. Most of the students are able to read the story by themselves . Teaching aids: ppt、E-pen、textbooks Teaching steps: Step 1: Lead in 1. Talk about the cover. Q: “What can you see on the cover?” Teach “owl”. Get information from the cover. ( such as title, writer and press) 2. Guide the students to learn how to figure out the new words. (learning methods) Step 2: Skimming 1. Read the story themselves and discuss these questions in groups. How many kinds of birds in the book? Who is the best bird? Step 3: Intensive reading 1. Listen and repeat. Try to imitate. 2. Teach some new words while reading. ( such as “dive”, “hoot” etc.) 3. Discuss the mother owls words.(“Were all best at something. But youre my best bird.”) Step 4: Extension 1. Talk about the students abilities. 2. Science knowledge extension. Step 5: Summary What have you learnt in the story? Step 6: Homework 1. Discuss other birds you know. 2. Read more stories by the website.
