I have.” Unit2 My Schoolbag for Book 3 of PEP i Unit2 My Schoolbag Part A Lets learn Textbook Analysis: This is the first class of Unit2. Based on the contents of the previous unit, this part will extend the learning on stationery and it is the key point of the whole unit. Moreover, according to the new Curriculum Standard, I will take all into account, especially the following three dimensional teaching objectives: 1.Knowledge and Technique Objectives: a. Key words of listening, speaking and reading: schoolbag, Chinese book, English book, maths book, storybook. b. Flexible application of the new sentences: What is in your .? I have c. Acting according to instructions. d. Singing song. 2.Process and Method Objectives: a. Learn new words by a combinative application of objects, cards, illustrations, group works, created scenarios and games. b. In the created scenarios, use the new sentences to conduct the “interview” by co- work between teacher and students, co-work between students, dialogues, song singings. This is the key point and also the difficult point of this class. 3.Emotion and Value objectives: Students can enthusiastically participate in the games, and finish the “interview” by teamwork. Students Analysis: The new Curriculum Standards proposes students being the subjects of learning, so the teaching should be focused on “knowing the characteristics of students”. Normally the fourth grade students are full of curiosity, active, imitative, with strong interests and one year experience in English, and they have already learned a small amount of vocabulary and can practice simple dialogues, so flexible and diverse Teaching Methods need to be developed to conduct the Unit2 My Schoolbag for Book 3 of PEP ii teaching. Teaching Methods Analysis: The new Curriculum Standards proposes teaching orienting all students, strengthening the instructions of the study strategy to students, training the comprehensive language application ability of students so as to lay a firm foundation for their further language studies. Based on these objectives, I write the chant so as to make the words learning more interesting. Games like Ping-pong games are also used to fully motivate the students, so they can learn as they play the games. Role playing games like “I am a journalist” can put students into the real scenario and practice the flexible usage of new sentences. Song singing of “I have a Chinese book, me too ” can help to strengthen the usage of news sentences in a lively atmosphere; I also appropriately use ICQS for testing, and give students proper evaluation and motivation, so students can learn in an initiative, happy, cooperative, slightly competitive atmosphere. This will be a nice experience to the students. Teaching Analysis: To achieve the teaching objectives and complete the teaching tasks, let us start the journey of “discovery in our school bags”. Teaching Procedures: Step1 Warm-upLet us guess At the beginning of the class, I create the scenario of “ Let us start the discovery of my schoolbag”. Firstly, I use the step of “Let us guess” to attract the attention of students. After the daily English, I use a school bag full of stationery and play the “Let us guess” game with students, and 4 minutes will be spent to inspire the curiosity and initiative discovery of the students. Step2 Presentation A wonderful world in the school bag Afterwards, led by me, the students naturally enter the step of “It is a wonderful world in the schoolbag”, 20 minutes will be spent on this step. Learning new words is the key point of this class. I play Zoom and use TPR to guide students to learn the new words. Use all kind of books, cards, beautiful pictures, illustrations to give students the visual understanding of the new words. To inspired the interests of Unit2 My Schoolbag for Book 3 of PEP iii students, I write the chant “Book, book, book, English book;English, English, English, English book” to strengthen the teaching of new words. Similar teaching methods are applied in teaching other new words and methods like high-low voice, team competition of reading new words, and listen to the tape are also applied to correct the pronunciation of students. After the teaching of new words, Zoom becomes the judge, and students are divided into 2 groups: Group A and Group B to play the game of “Ping-pong words”. This will help students to memorize the new words and inspire their interests in it. A red flag will be awarded to the group which wins, and create a high point of the class. Teaching new words in a playful atmosphere and step by step way highlights the key point of this class. Students will be reminded of the differences between “a” and “an”. At this time, the teaching part is completed. Step3 ExtensionInteresting dialogue This step is sentence teaching, which is both the key point and difficult point of this class. In the sentence of “What is in your.? I have”, I play Sara and Zoom respectively, and the students will observe, listen, imitate, and be guided to talk to Zoom and each other. To make the difficulties of the teaching easier, Zoom continues to guide the students to the extensible practice in the step of “happy participants”. Step 4 PracticeHappy participants The new Curriculum Standards proposes teaching methods by using tasks and training the comprehensive language application abilities of students. Step 5 Summary Hand work At the end of the class, I summarize the important points of this period, and sing the song “I have a Chinese book, me too!” with the Ss. Together. The song is terse, beautiful; it helps with both the words review and also the starting point of the future classes, in addition, students can comprehend the charm of English in the Unit2 My Schoolbag for Book 3 of PEP iv beautiful melody. Chinese book I have. maths book storybook Homework: 1. Read the new words after class. 2.Write the new words in your notebooks. Teaching evaluation: The class focuses on the happy atmosphere and creates the scenarios of “school bag discovery”. It inspires the interests of students by games, assigned tasks, and motivate students to initiatively participate in the class, to learn in playing, to practice what they learnt, which greatly improves the efficiency of the class, and cultivate the learning interests of students. It is practical to carry out of the spirits of new Curricular Reform.
