Review Culture and cuisine go hand in hand, and if you do not experience one, you can never really know th

3、e other. *If you had a chance to bring foreign friends to eat in a traditional Chinese restaurant, what dishes would you recommend? Why? Review *Think about these questions. 1. 16、 of restaurant was it? What was it like? It was a Xinjiang restaurant in Beijing. It looked really special and the food was delicious. There was live entertainment including dancing and singing. Speaking activity For me, the kebab meat served on very large and pointy skewers was very different to wh

17、at I am used to. It was cooked on an open fire, and at first I was quite scared. But after taking my first bite, I found it was so delicious I had to keep eating. It was a bit unusual to eat the kebab meat from the large skewer, but I quickly became used to it. There was also a large “naan” bread th

18、at seemed unique to the region. There was braised meat and potatoes on it. It was delicious too. 2. How was it different from what you are used to? 炖肉炖肉 烤肉叉子烤肉叉子 Speaking activity It taught me that people there like to eat food as efficiently and tastily as possible. Serving the kebab meat on the sk

19、ewer is certainly a much faster and more efficient way. Maybe in the past the skewer was a large sword that nomadic people used to skewer and cook meat while outside by a campfire. It made me want to learn more! 3.
