Self check p Do I tell the reader which topic I am reflecting on? p Do I explain the changes that I have made after acquiring the knowledge? p Do I tell my plan on how to use the knowledge or skills? p Is my piece of writing well-linked by addition linkers? Peer Editing Sheet l Does the writer tell the reader which topic he is reflecting on? l Does the writer explain the changes he has made after acquiring the knowledge? l Does the writer tell his plan on how to use the knowledge or skills? l Does the writer organize the piece of writing well by using addition linkers? My Reflection on “Active Learning” In the past, I did not know much about active learning, let alone that one could become an active learner through conscious efforts. “Active learning” casts a new light on my understanding and I have acquired a lot from it. Now Ive learnt that active learners are open-minded and focus on what the speaker is saying, not on what their brain is saying in the background. Moreover, they are always curious and ask questions if they do not understand. They want to dig out the truth. I believe that in this way they can really learn something. In addition, sometimes people may judge others based on their personal feelings and it may get in the way of learning. Therefore, active learners often focus on the message, not on the messenger. Getting to know what an active learner does, I plan to make changes to my learning and adopt some positive ways of thinking. For example, I will try to keep an open mind and listen to what others are saying, as well as be more tolerant of different ideas. Whats more, to get to the truth, I will keep a curious mind and ask questions if necessary. Furthermore, I will not let my personal feelings get in the way. Instead, I will focus on the message itself. I believe I can become an active learner if I put my plans into action!
