Raiden Garcia, 8, managed to survive the terrible disaster when he and his family were playing on Ellison Creek (溪流) near Phoenix, the capital city of Arizona. When the flood hit the area, Raiden became separated from his family because of the rushing water. All he could do was to swim as hard as he could, but the waves kept overpowering him. And he couldnt see anything. Finally, he was swept into an area where the water wasnt rushing so fast, and he was able to grab onto a log (原木). From there, he shouted as loud as he could for help, even though he couldnt see anyone, just dark water and debris (杂物) in the river. Fortunately, Kelly, a young man who had gotten to higher ground before the water rushed through heard his voice and moved through the muddy ground to get to the boy. Meanwhile, Raiden tried pulling himself up on the log and onto a rock, but he slipped(滑倒). He fell back into the water and was struggling (挣扎). But then Kelly appeared. He helped pull Raiden to a safer area. Thats where Raiden got rescued (救援) and he ended up being the only children survivor in this accident.
