Section A (First lesson) Teaching Aims: 1. Enable the Ss to read and write rice, bread, noodle, and food correctly. 2. Enable the Ss to understand and use the sentence structures correctly. -Whats your favourite food? -I like./ My favourite food is. 3. To arouse the Ss enthusiasm of learning English with some games. 4. To strengthen the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. Key points & Difficult points: Enable the Ss to understand and use the words and sentence structures correctly. Teaching Methods: Situational Approach, Game, Pair-work and Group- work. Teaching Tools: PPT and word cards Teaching Procedures: I. Warm up & lead in T: Before todays lesson, lets listen to a song first. ( Play the record of Do you like.) T:I like donuts. Do you like donuts? Well, today we will learn more words about eating. II. Presentation 1. Words & phrases Show the picture of rice and teach the word. Use the same method to teach other new words and phrases. T: Lets play a game-Whats missing. (T clicks the mouse, some picture will miss. The Ss are required to speak out the corresponding word in English quickly. ) T: All of you have done a good job. I will give an apple to each group. 2. Sentence structure T: Well, there are many kinds of food. Whats your favourite food? Who can tell me what the meaning of the sentence? S1: 你最喜欢的食物是什么? T: Yes. Thank you. Can you repeat it? Ss: Whats your favourite food? T: Well done. When someone asks you this question, you can answer I like.Lets have a try. T: Whats your favourite food? S3: I like bread. T: Wonderful. (Ask more students) III. Practice 1. Who is the fastest. T: Lets play a chain game. Pls look at the rule quickly. T: Start now. (Few minutes later) T: Well, Group A, you are so fast. So you are the winner. 2.Lets show T gives the Ss a new dialogue as the example. The Ss are required to make another dialogue in 5 minutes. Ask at least 1 pair to show their dialogue. IV. Conclusion & Homework T: Today we have learnt some words and sentences about food. After class, pls make a new dialogue with your partner as the example.
