The 2nd Period Teaching Date: Teaching Procedures I. Warmer/Revision 1. Short speech “The things in my room” 2. Greet to the students. 3. Sing the song “Count the numbers”. Then review the numbers. II. The presentation of the new material 1. The teacher shows a cat on PPT. Ask students whether they like cats and ask students to enjoy an interesting video about the cat. 2. Lead in Lingling and Daming. They also like cats. Lead students to see where they are and what they are doing. Show the first picture of the text. Have students observe and count the cats in the picture. 3. Tell students the orange cat disappears because of Daming and Lingling. Prompt students to find it. Write the key sentence “Wheres the orange cat?” on the Bb. Teach students to read. Pay attention to the pronunciation of “the orange”. 4. Show more pictures to practice “the orange”. 5. Give students some clues to guess where the orange cat is. Write the key sentences “I dont know. Is it on / in / under the .?” “No, it isnt. / Yes, it is.” on the Bb. 6. Listen and watch the video of the text. Get the answer. III. Drill 1. Listen and follow the video to read the text. 2. Open the book and read it together once. 3. Show a mouse on the PPT. Tell students it is finding the three cats. Play the video of activity 1. Ask students to act like the mouse. 4. Teacher asks students to be the mouse to find the three cats. Its fun. (1) Go into the white cats house. Teacher asks “Wheres the white cat?” Ask Changes & Additions M3-2 individual to answer. Give the one who can guess correctly two cats on the Bb. (2). Teacher sticks the bed, chair, table and box on the Bb to make the black cats house. Hide it and have students guess. (3). Go into the orange cats house. Ask student to hide it and guess where it is. IV. Practice 1. Pair work. Teacher makes an example first. Then ask students to take out their cats and play the game. At last show. 2. Play the video of two students. Go to their homes and find their cats. V Consolidation 1. Read the key words and sentences on the blackboard together. 2. Ask students do they want to keep a cat or dog and why? VI. Homework 1. Listen and read the text fluently. 2. Practise. P16 Activity 4. Point, ask and answer according to the pictures. VII. Blackboard Design VIII. Reflection after Teaching Changes & Additions M3-3
