3、or the school Science Festival. IV. Teaching procedures Step 1 Free talk T asks Ss to talk about the following three questions: Does your school hold the Science Festival? What events do you have? Whats the theme of your Science Festival? 【设计意图:询问学生对学校举办过的科技节的理解,为听力部分的话题知识做准备。】 Step 2 Listen and cir

4、cle the incorrect information 1. T asks Ss to listen to the talk, circle the incorrect information in each statement and correct it in the blanks. Tips for taking notes. T: If you need to write down information quickly, it is important for you

8、 to make your notes as brief as possible. Youd better adopt the following methods: use abbreviations and contractions; write down only the keywords; use symbols. T: Read these examples and try to keep them in mind. The next time you come across these words, using these methods can improve your effic

9、iency in note-taking. 11、eyword T: Keyword is a word that tells you about the main idea or subject of something, like the word that you type into a search engine so that it will search for information related to the word on the 3 Internet. Its very important to identify the keywords while listening, because the keywords may

12、 be the breakthrough for you to answer, or they may represent the point of view of the whole article.
