Play a game of numbers: Listen and react Ask if Ss are good at maths and if they like working with numbers? Tell them they are going to challenge themselves in this class. Explain the meaning of challenge at the same time. Tell Ss they are going to listen carefully and react. Eg, Who is 13 years old ? Please raise your left hand. Who is over 1.60 metres tall ? Please raise your right hand. Who is in Class 3, Grade 7? Please raise both of your hands. Who lives on the 4th floor? Please clap your hands. Who gets to school before 7:30 ? Have Ss count how many small squares there are in the picture on the ppt. Show the ppt with just three pictures: a grain of rice, a chessboard and a picture of the king and the old man playing chess. Tell Ss there was a king, a wise old man, a grain of rice and a chessboard in the story and the king promised the old man any prize. Match the main ideas with different parts of the story.1) Have Ss skim the whole story again and match the main ideas with different parts. 2) Have Ss read the main ideas aloud by themselves and try to remember them .设计目的:设计目的:在前一环节的拼图阅读中,学生获取的信息相对比较有限。因而在这里设计一个整体阅读,完成段落与段落主旨大意的匹配,再要求学生朗读并记住每一个段落的大意。为读后的复述活动做了输入的铺垫。3.
