Unit 4 Feeling Excited Period 1 Teaching aims: 1. Students can grasp the new vocabularies and patterns: (1) Tired, scared, excited, sad, angry, stayed up late, heard a noise, got a kitten, got a poor grade, broke a model; (2)A: Im tired. B: Why are you tired? A: Because I stayed up late last night. 2. Students are able to talk about feelings and giving reasons. 3. Students are able to work with others to make a mini-book. Teaching importance and difficulty: 1. Teaching importance: Pronounce the new words and targets correctly. 2.Teaching difficulty: Students are able to express their feelings correctly and accept their feelings. Teaching aids: CAI, picture cards Teaching procedure: Step 1 Warming-up Ask and answer some questions: (1) Are you happy? (2) Were you happy yesterday? (3) What did you do yesterday? Step 2 Presentation (1) Introduce a new friend Riley, and learn new words and patterns with Riley. 【设计意图】本课以头脑特工队的主人公 Riley 拥有不同的情绪引导学生 学习各种情绪单词,在新知呈现过程中,多次使用声音、视频调动学生的感官, 制造信息差,让学习变得有趣又有意义。 (2) Present “excited” T: Listen and guess how Riley feels? S: She feels happy. T: We can hear some music and drum beat. She is very excited. And when will you feel excited? Students brainstorm why they feel excited. (3) Play the music and present “angry”, talk about the reasons (4) Present “sad” and “got a poor grade” (5) Present “scared” and “heard a noise” (6) Present “tired” and “stayed up late” Step 3 Practice 1. Create a context: Class 3 Got Talent T: Boys and girls, youve done a very good job, now lets come to our talent show: Class 3 Got Talent. 2. Challenge 1: Show your facial expressions 【设计意图】学生通过看图,快速说出单词并作出相应的表情,既巩固本课所 学表示感受的单词,又得到放松。 3. Challenge 2: Speak clearly and loudly 【设计意图】利用 ppt 的动画效果,学生大声读出本单元所学的词组。 4.
