Understand and use the sentence : What do you want to be? I want to be a/an. I want to./I like. 2. Ability Goals: Cultivate students listening and speaking ability. 3. Moral Goals:Encourage them to persist in their job dream. AidsMultimedia, PPT Procedure Steps & TimeTeaching & Learning ActivitiesNotes 1. Warm-up (5mins) 1) Warming-up activity: Ask the students to sing the song with the tape. 2) Revision: Revision of the job words they have learn t before. 1) The song meets childrens characteristics and instincts, practices and revises already learned languagethey can learn the language incidentally, and changes the pace of the lesson. 2) The revision of job words foreshadow the development of the class. 2.Guessing game (8mins) Present some pictures about the new words they learn t some minutes ago in the PPT to give a further impression for students, which is easy for them to remember the new words. To create an information gap for the students to introduce the target language with the information the students dont know well. 3. Cartoon Time& Pair-work (5mins) Show them the cartoon of “What do you want to be? I want to be a/an.” to give them a impression of the sentence, so that they can make by themselves. Ask them to make a dialogue with their partner by using the sentence . The cartoon meets childrens instincts and practices the important knowledge they learned in this class. They can learn the language incidentally. Pair-work can practice the knowledge if that someone may cant say well. 4.Role play (7mins) I will show them three questions before playing the text recording. After that, I will play again the text and ask them to make a role play . Then show it for us. The text recording can make a further impression of the sentence and show them the correct pronunciation and intonation. 5.Guessing&Com peting (5mins) Showing them some objects related to the jobs, I will ask them to guess the job a with the sentence “I want to be a/an., I want to./ I like .” Review the new sentences by playing a competing game between groups. The first PPT can well practice the sentence “ I want to be. ” and the second one practice the sentence “ I like.(doing). The game make a deeper understanding of the knowledge. 6. Little Reporter (5mins) Suppose that you are the little reporter , report your group members , including the information that what do you want to be and why. The exercise can well practice the phrases. If one cant say he can learn by others teach him. 7. Homework (2mins) Write a short passage about “My Dream”,using the knowledge we learn t today. The homework can well review the new knowledge and practice their writing ability. 8. Aphorism (3mins) Maybe there are some difficult in your way to dream , remember that “Where there is a will , there is a way.” The aphorism points out that you must persist in your dream.
