Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world? Section B Task 1. Do some reading and discussing practice. 1) Read the two short paragraphs by yourself. Scientists say there are now fewer than 2,000 pandas living in the forests. Another 300 or so live in zoos or research centers in China and other countries. Pandas do not have many babies, maybe only one every two years. The babies often die from illnesses and do not live very long. Adult pandas spend more than 12 hours a day eating about 10 kilos of bamboo. Many years ago, there were a lot more bamboo forests and pandas in China, but then humans started to cut down these forests. As the forests get smaller and other human activities cause more problems, pandas cannot find enough to eat and they are having fewer babies. An education program in Chengdu teaches children in cities about pandas and other endangered animals. They send people to schools to tell children about the importance of saving these animals. The children sing songs or make artwork about pandas and other wild animals. Teaching children is one way to help save pandas. The Chinese government is also planting more bamboo trees so there will be more forests for pandas to live in. Section B Writing 三、教材分析三、教材分析: : Whats the highest mountain in the world?是八年级下册的第七单元课题。 本单元主要谈论地理与自然的世界知识。在八年级上册Unit 3和Unit 4两个单元对形容词和副词的学习、讲解和练习的基础上,再一次展现比较级 和最高级的更为高深的固定句型结构,帮助孩子们构建一个更加完整的知识理 论体系,这也是初中阶段最后一次教材中集中学习此项语法项目。 另外,本单元也是让孩子们第一次体会、学习并尝试运用较大的数字的英 语表达方法,了解世界和我国的一些“自然地理之最”,与最高级完美的结合 。这些数字对于孩子来说,并不容易。最初,接触数字只是一些电话号码、ID 号码和用到hundred、thousand足够表达所学数字了,但是本单元,需要将过 去的所学集中运用的同时,还要继续学习运用million等, 同时记录所听到的数字依然是一个大难题。 本节课是本单元的第五课时,课型是Writing。通过复习单词,展示图片 、视频,大大降低了学生的学习难度,为接下来的写作教学活动做好热身铺垫 ,让孩子们在阅读、问答探究中进一步了解国宝大熊猫,意识到由于我们人类 有意无意的行为对自然界的动物们的伤害,并感悟到保护它们的重要性和必要 性,从而能发自肺腑的有意识的去保护它们。通过一系列的教学活动安排, 让孩子们有话要说,有词有句可依,有一堆思想去表达,最后给成写作练习机 会,使其一吐为快。 四、学情分析:四、学情分析: 本次参与录课的学生是我从七年级一直带到现在的学生,已经将近两年了 ,师生间都比较熟悉,对于一些课堂指令和口语表达,孩子们也能理解的更多 更加准确了,而且相对来说,孩子们的平均水平较高一些。日常教学活动中大 部分孩子们都会用英语回答并简单阐述自己的观点意见。作文练习一般也都安 排在课上,尽量做到学生互评,教师面批,最后展示优秀学生习作。学生们对 这一系列的教学活动安排已经很熟悉了。 五、教学目标五、教学目标: : (1)知识与能力目标: 1. Check your notes, and learn to understand and use the ways to complete a writing. 设计意图:设计意图:课后作业是课堂所学知识和活动的延伸,让学生们再次整理笔记,完 成作文,是为了让孩子们体会运用所学的写作方法,做到熟练,并内化。充分 利用阅读材料,安排学生活动,使其作用发挥到最大化。 九、教后反思:九、教后反思: 1. 本节课是一节写作课,通过复习词汇,展示熊猫成长的变化图片,让孩子们更 直观的进一步了解熊猫,为后面的话题作文做好铺垫,降低写作难度。另外, 通过阅读材料,结合问题让孩子们更有针对性的了解熊猫的生存现状,并通过 对话讨论和小组讨论的形式,尽力做到“水到渠成”,孩子们能够自然地总结 表达,阐述作文。让孩子们相互交流学习,各个层次的孩子都能受益有所收获 ,阅读能力、口语表达能力也是会逐步实践提高。 对于本节课的安排,和上完课的总体感觉还算满意。学生对这节课的学 习达到了我期望的水平,很满意。 学生在本节课的各种活动进行中时,都比较顺畅,而且在完成了本节课上 所有活动安排后, 出示给孩子们课后作业时,都表现的自信满满的样子,看来让学生们再次进行 转述练习和让学生之间将其作为话题安排谈话两种活动都没有什么难度,也许 ,我应该安排一些更需要跳一跳的课后习题了。 2. 精彩的瞬间:在视频的展示的环节中,熊猫在动物园里嬉戏打闹、追逐玩耍, 孩子们看得十分高兴,甚至拍手叫好,达到课堂的高潮。但是,随着问题的抛 出:Where do you think pandas homes should be?
