All the divers assembled at 8 am. Then we went to the waters around the Farne Islands. I was so excited to see the deep blue sea. Firstly, we visited a shipwreck, the 6,810-ton steamer Somali, which sank in 1941 during the Second World War. The ship rested upright on the sea bed, about 30 metres below the waves. She was too amazing and looked as though she was about to set sail once again! The second dive was to swim with Farnes most lovely residents, the thousands of grey seals that live on the island all year. I saw the 300kg adult males which were the largest animals in my memory. It looked a bit scary, but the instructor told us they were harmless. Then I saw the young seals followed me among the seaweed forests and schools of unusual fish. In the late afternoon, I finished the diving. Although it was a bit tired, I still think it was the most unforgettable experience. Share your diary entry with the class.
