I canto make sentences (Level A). 2 Skills: a) To understand the dialogues about ones abilities; b) To use “can” to ask for and give information about ones abilities. 3 Emotion: a) To figure out different abilities required in different jobs; b) To try

3、to develop the abilities in future jobs. II. Language focuses/difficulties: 1. To understand the dialogues with the help of the learned vocabulary. 2. To ask for and give information about abilities by using the structure: Can you?/ I can 3. To role play the job interview according to the given info

Teaching procedures Before the class, students are required: 1. To learn the vocabulary by themselves, read out the words in the QQ group. 2. To learn the

5、 usage of “can” on the QQ space. Step 1: Warm-up: Lets sing a song (2 minutes) Teacher plays the song Be what you wanna be and gets the students to listen to and sing with it. T: Id like to share a song with you. If you can sing, please sing with it. While youre listening, please pay attention to th

6、e words about job. (Purpose: Previously students have learned unit 1 witch is about personal information and job preference. This song is about dreams and job pursuits, so singing the song not only can review the learned words, but also can activate the learning atmosphere and make students get read

7、y for the lesson.) Step 2 Lead-in: (after the song played) Free talk 2 Teacher asks some questions about the song and lead in the topic. T: Thank you. I really enjoyed the song. Can you tell me some words about job in the song? S: Doctor, actor, lawyer, singer T: What can a singer do? S: A singer ca

8、n sing. T: Yes, different jobs require different abilities. For example,(showing pictures) T: I am an English teacher. I can speak English. I can read and write in English. I can teach English. T: What can you do? S: I can (students give their answer) T: Can you swim/ drive? (Teacher asks about diff

9、erent abilities.) S: Yes, I can. No, I cant. (Purpose: By asking the question, teacher is leading the students to the topic and makes them try to use “can” to express their abilities. They may make some mistakes, then teacher can check and correct. Teacher also presents the yes/no question and stude

10、nts get to know the language points step by step.) Step3: Pre-listening T: Different people have different abilities. Lets learn more. Active1: Read and complete. 2 (set time) (Purpose: In this step, the students are recalling their knowledge and learning the new words.) Active 2: Read and tick. 3 (

11、set time) T: As we know, different people have different abilities. What abilities do you think are important in a job? T: lets read the sentences together and tick. If you have any problem, you can ask your partner in your group. Also, you can discuss with your group member. (Purpose: By reading th

12、e sentences, students can be more familiar with the “can” structure, and by discussing them, students can get more familiar with the topic and get well-prepared for the listening. Step 4. While-listening 10 1. Listen and circle. (听录音, 在活动 3 的字母序号上圈出求职者有做的事)2 Teacher plays the recording and invites s

13、ome students to do it. 2. Listen and complete.(听录音,完成以下表格)3 Teacher guides the students to read the table carefully first, then plays the recording, after that, check answers. 3. Listen, read and underline. 5 Teacher plays the recording and gets students to underline the key sentences. And then gets

Since the students have finished the previous activities, they can get the answers easily. By following the recording, students not only can imitate the pronunciations and tones of the speaki
