Culture 2 : Great buildings Whats that? Where is it? Its the pyramids. Its in Egypt. Egypt 埃及埃及 the pyramids 金字塔金字塔 Do you know what it is? Its a pyramid in Egypt. People in Egypt used very big stones to build pyramids for the kings and their families. F Whats that? Where is it? Its the Eiffel Tower. Its in France. France 法国法国 the Eiffel Tower 埃菲尔铁塔埃菲尔铁塔 The French people built it in 1889. Its about 324 metres tall. Lots of people go there and visit it every day. 米米 法国的法国的 build A Whats that? Where is it? Its the Great Wall. Its in China. China 中国中国 the Great Wall 万里长城万里长城 Its the longest wall in the world. Lots of people visit it every year. Its in China. B Whats that? Where is it? Its the Stratue of Liberty. Its in USA. The United States of America. USA (United States of America) 美国美国 the Statue of Liberty 自由神像自由神像 France gave this to the USA in 1886. Can you see what the woman is holding? She holding a book and a torch, and shes standing in New York to welcome people. D Whats that? Where is it? Its the Taj Mahal. Its in India. India 印度印度 the Taj Mahal 泰姬陵泰姬陵 An Indian King built it in the 1600s for his wife. About 20,000 workers helped to build it . Its very beautiful, and you can see big gardens and pools there. C Whats that? Where is it? Its Sydney Opera House. Its in Australia. Australia 澳大利亚澳大利亚 Sydney Opera House 悉尼歌剧院悉尼歌剧院 It opened in 1973. There are big halls and restaurants in the building . People go there to watch operas and concerts. Show the world map. 2. Circle six counties: China,Egypt, USA, France,India,Australia 二、学习研讨 (1)导入新课。 T:Did you enjoy the trip? Which building do you like best? Why? Where is it? When was it built?
